As requested , she had informed Horseman when she was going to head up to the Sept. It occurred to her after she had been escorted (and helped with the supplies) over the moon bridge that she wasn't sure WHY he had requested her to tell him. And she wondered why. He knew she was going, but why the request of when. Strange.

Maybe she just wasn't used to this whole thing. Not that she could particularly remember the whole of it all but whatever.

She had all but slapped off the requests to help her carry her burden as she waddled towards the cabin. She was fine, and didn't appreciate being treated fragile if you wanted to know the truth. Yes, she was Pregnant. Yes, she was near 6 months. Yes, it showed. And yes, she waddled when she walked instead of gliding or whatever she was supposed to as female. But she was capable still (And still sparred much to most peoples dismay.) But she waddled carrying a few bags and some stuff.

There where two Alphas. One of the Sept which encompassed the Waystation: the Sept Alpha and then there was her mate, the Commander. Being that only one of them had a mate it fell to her to see to a few things. Something about duty that she was still learning.

So she was on the door step that belonged to the new Get, and the baby he had brought. She set the bags down and knocked.

She was learning to be less consciousness about her scarring but despite that due to it being colder she did wear a jacket over her shirt, a pair of jeans she could move in and steel toed boots. She was a pretty woman with features reminiscence of a lion, Honey colored hair hung over her shoulders. And despite the fact she was nearly 6 months pregnant there was something about her that gave even True borns pause: she was physically impressive to say the least. Some saw it in the way she stood, almost at military rest. Or in how loose she kept her body as if she was ready to move at any moment. Or maybe it was the fact that she held her shoulders square and not submissive.

No. She was definitely not a meek mouse. And she was standing on Dorians door step.

It felt weird to have a home again. It didn't feel like home yet but eventually it would. That would be a good feeling when it happened. Right now, more than anything, it felt good to not be on the move. He'd crossed the better part of two continents before arriving here, a lot of it on foot, and actually having a cabin with a bed in it felt luxurious. They could have given him the cabin with rotted walls, patchy floors, broken windows, and a rickety old spring bed, and it still would have felt like a luxury.

He was trying to fit in as he went without being pushy. Offering to help but not wanting to make a nuisance of himself. Dorian wasn't a extremely extroverted personality, which made that part both easier and harder. There'd been a few dirty looks which he'd done nothing to correct. Most people and People had been surprisingly welcoming. It felt surreal. He was waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The knock on the door surprised him. Natalie and he didn't get many visitors and on the Sept grounds it shouldn't have been an intruder. Still, he opened the door slowly and only enough to see who it was first. And it appeared to be a highly pregnant woman with several bags at her feet. Dorian didn't have a clue who she was but her bearing was certainly not one that invited much nonsense. Which led to the question of why was she here?

"Evening." His voice was quiet but polite. "Something I can help you with, miss?"

Clearly she'd come here for a reason. With bags. And with child. Natalie was sleeping in the other room in her blanket and bundle bed he'd whipped up for her. Dorian was dressed in a like manner; his boots were off by the door but he still had some socks on due to the weather. Jeans and an old tee were his go to. The man didn't have much other clothing and he usually slept in his Lupus shape for the fur. Seattle was chilly. There was a light cedar odor that came out of his cabin to touch Jesse's nose but that was about it for smells. Dorian's eyes still had dark marks around them despite having had a chance to rest. He sported a few scars of his own on his forearms and his limbs were packed with lean, hardened muscle. Dorian wasn't muscle-bound like a bodybuilder, he was a leaner, scrapper looking type.

"Want to come in?"

He opened the door wide and stepped aside, in clear invitation. It was cold out there. She was a stranger. He was weighing caution with the reminder that this was a Sept. She should be safe. If not, it was close quarters and he was an Ahroun.

She breathed in when he opened the door and noted the condition of his clothing and felt a little better about her choice: She had the sudden feeling that in another life she was not nearly as friendly but she shrugged that off. "Hi. ..Yeah. " Full lips pulled into a smile "Well more I can help you, or that's the idea"

She gathered up the bags and there where a lot of them but they had little straps to hold them. She stepped inside when he moved aside and set them down . "Sorry, I am Jesse Wisse: apparently Glass-walker kin thanks to being mated to Horseman. Hes the Wayside Commander" She still wasn't entirely sure how THAT particularly worked.

She set the bags down and looked around then back at him "I heard you had a child with you. So, I brought you somethings that you probably need." She pointed at the bags "Diapers, wipes, formula...I used my best judgement on that one, not sure what you had been giving her. Bottles..bottle cleaner..." Pointed to another "clothing, Horseman didn't say how old she was but he said fairly new..so...0-3 months and since I don't know her size I just got another bag of up to 6 months so your set there for that long if shes not very big" She pointed to another bag "Blankets and a snow suit, both sizes. " Another bag was pointed out. How many bags did this pregnant woman drag up here? She looked up "Bath towels, baby toiletries. "

Her head tilted "Do you have a crib or are you co sleeping?" Yeah she bombarded him and blinked "I feel like I forgot something..." She breathed in and said "I'll have a couple of sets of clothing sent up for you too"

She looked back up at him "I probably should have let you tell me your name first ..shouldnt I?"

Help him? He didn't really understand but she came in when he offered and introduced herself. Jesse Wisse, Glass Walker kin, mated to Horseman whom Dorian hadn't met yet... and apparently part of some kind of Sept welcome wagon? She set her bags down then looked back at him and began to tell him everything she'd brought. And honestly, it was a lot. Because if she hadn't been mated to some Commander, he might have kissed the woman. Instead, Dorian offered a weary smile but a very genuine one. Kindness was in short supply most places and the Sept here had been... yeah, waiting for the other shoe. It almost felt too good.

"Thank you." He told her and he meant it very legitimately. "That's going to be a lot of help."

It really was. He didn't have a job, money, anything. This would hold Nat over until he had a time to figure out ways to get more green without relying on generosity. Technically, this might be considered letting his people tend his weakness, but Dorian had violated the Litany in far worse ways so he'd deal with a minor sin in the now.

"Co-sleeping, mostly. It's been cold and wolf fur is warm." Dorian answered her. "She got used to riding in this little papoose kind of thing anyway so she likes being close."

Which was hell on his sleep schedule but still.

"I don't much care on points of etiquette with helping hands. But my name's Dorian, Chain-Breaker to the Nation. Ahroun Cliath Fenrir and Garmir."

She grinned "Nice to meet you Dorian Rhya" That last part sounded like she had to spit nails to get it to come out for a moment, though her smile hadn't changed. Just not used to being submissive she guessed. That and she was a thing that pushed back in the night, being a Knight of St George of the Celestial Choir.

There was a slow nod "Well, Ill have a crib brought anyway, you can take the side off and push it up to your bed if you want, but...that way she can take naps without you having to shift down to four legs" She breathed in and nodded "Get of Fenris, Cool. My first born is blood to your tribe"

She considered and then said "I was told she was a little different. May I see her?" She paused at how that sounded and added "I don't want to see her because shes different, that came out wrong. I want to see her because she is a baby. And this way I can get a idea of if she needs more then I brought"

"Rhya was my dad." He shrugged off the honorific. "Dorian or Chain-Breaker works well enough. I answer to both."

Polite titles were well and good but he didn't feel like her particularly deserved it. He didn't mind calling others rhya to appease their egos but felt little need to be called it himself. So long as a person wasn't trash talking him and was being civil, good enough. Academically, he understood the reason for the suffix. Rage was unpredictable and it was a clear way to indicate ones tone, usually.

"Don't choke on honorifics on my account. Crib would be great if you have one you're not using "

A crib would be spectacular. Really spectacular. Natalie was fussy and sometimes he just needed to put her down and walk away so he wouldn't do something stupid. He decided he was going to owe this Jesse Wisse one. He exhaled and blinked when she asked about Nat and at first it didn't come off as well... but, really, would she have brought a bunch of supplies? Plenty of other Metis she could stare at if that was her thing. But no... she hadn't meant it like that.

"She's over here." He said instead, leading Jesse over to the bedroom door. Through it, Natalie was propped up on her back with blankets and clothing barricades. "Can hold her if you want. Just watch the mouth. She bites when she gets frustrated and sometimes teeth shapeshift out of her gums."

When she was really upset. Natalie's skin was dark green and scaled, like a crocodile, with a hard, bumpy, armored and mottled back. Her face and stomach were lighter colored but no one would ever mistake her for human.

"Mostly, she needed a Sept. Living breach of the Veil. Couldn't hide her forever without one."

She followed him and said as way of explaining "I was fairly callow up until recently. Mated, knew what he was and that I was of the blood. But , I was kept out of the sept and everything else. " she had shrugged, she had her own world to worry about and being too deep in another seemed a bad idea. And yet, here she was. "So choking on honorifics is about right"

She stopped seeing the baby and paused, turned and walked back into the living room "Ill have a crib brought up. And a bouncer so you dont have to put her on her back like that, and play pen." Putting her hand on her back she crouched and pulled a bag over and went through it. The with bit of effort she got up and waddled back over to him. She carried a few things and scooted past and into the room.

"Teeth on a baby, that's a thing" And that seemed the ONLY thing to give her pause really. She sat on the bed and lay out the stuff she had gotten. A blankie, clothing and a toiletry bag. She smiled over at the little girl as she went about preparing for...something. "When I was pregnant with my first child I read a lot about things that could go wrong" She paused as she blinked that memory boiling up with a pop. Then started again "I found that there are some children born with a condition called Harlequin Syndrome. "

"Hey sweetie" She said lifting the little bundle up. She had seen a lot of weird shit, she knew that. Little scale baby was strange but a baby was a baby and there was something about that that made her compassionate. She did pause though as she looked at the child and blinked, teeth...and had a memory bubble pop up of a child with teeth and red eyes. She shook her head and let her fingers run along her scales , tying her to the here and now and not years past with vampire children and..this was different. This, despite the scales was not a true monster.

"Harlequin Syndrome" She said with a swallow, trying to choke back the memory of her daughter. "its kind of nasty. Skin is so thick that the baby often dies after birth. Only one child with this has grown to birth. At first, they would just lay the baby down. Odd looking, thick skin, engorged blood red eyes " because THAT didn't bring her mind around to Megs, but she pushed it away "They barely move and the weight of the skin constricts their breathing often causing death. One doctor realized, hey this baby is still alive...and gave it a bath" As she spoke she pulled a little baby brush out and ran her fingers over the bristles with her thumb and then gently started make circles on the little ones arm "and brushed its skin...getting rid of the thicker skin. Baby survived. Down side is that the child and now the girl who lived to her adult hood has to take a brush to their skin everyday. With these scales...shes likely to need the same for a while. And probably have some baby oil rubbed into it after." She looked up "Do you do that already?"

She said this as she looked back down and started to gently brush the child down. It was clearly she intended on seeing to the little one and dressing her properly. "how old is she? Ill admit, Ive seen a lot and nothing quiet like this. But, shes still cute and deserves to be treated with care"

It sounded like there was a history there of some kind but Dorian didn't feel he knew Jesse well enough to ask. Why would a pregnant kin be kept out of the Sept? He'd been among some draconian Garou but they'd still prioritize the protection of their future kids. Apparently there were some undercurrents of the Sept here which he didn't understand yet. It would bear watching.

"Thank you." He said to her offer of a crib, play pen, and bouncer. "Nat will like that."

Teeth on a baby was definitely a thing. She didn't usually have them, too little. But she was Metis and shapeshifting was her birthright. Once in a blue moon, when she was really stressed out, she'd change shape or part of her shape. Usually to bite at whatever was bothering her. It wasn't a threat to a Trueborn but werewolf teeth were sharp to most other folks. Part of why he kept feeding her with formula... he didn't want any wet nurse risking a breast in the Metis's mouth. That would be really painful.

Dorian listened as she talked about Harlequin Syndrome, which frankly sounded nasty as could be. He felt bad for those infants who had to fight that battle. He'd never considered Natalie might have something like that; he'd taken her hide to be her Metis deformity. Like the snakes and crocodiles in the Amazon, or the presence of so much Wyrm taint, she'd been marked by it. Now he had a new thing to worry about.

"I rub lotion on her skin every day, keep it from drying out, yes." He said to Jesse. "Seems to help with the itching. Her scales are thick, like alligator hide. She likes pressure. Don't think her sense of touch is as keen."

Natalie, for her part, didn't mind being held at all.

"She's coming up on a month old."

"Not a problem" She said honestly. She was in fact keeping a eye on the Ahroun. Having the ability to see 360 was nice. She half smiled and looked up at him as she gently brushed the little baby.

"The condition" She continued "Gave me the idea when i saw her that brushing her skin once or twice a day might help her a lot. It doesnt look too bad but I do know that snake and lizard skin sheds and with a little bit one doesnt know how its going to affect her or just be uncomfortable. Right, like itching." Once she was done she picked up some baby oil and put the baby in her lap giving her a little smile.

She pout the oil in her hands and started to rub it on the little one "Oil will be better. Lotion works but Oil would be better I think" Her brows rose as she looked at the little one "One month, oh my. " One done she repampered and put on a little night gown, one of those ones that had the elastic at the end so that it covered the feet but was able to open easy if he needed to change her. Gave her the look of Sweet pea.

She breathed in and looked up, a little smile on her face "So, if you need a break the den father isnt far. He will help you, hes a child of Gaia. Is there anything else I can do to help you out?"

Dorian's body language wasn't any more aggressive than usual; all Garou had the Rage burning inside them but he showed no indication of danger beyond what he was. He watched Jesse with Natalie as any parent would but didn't hover over her or fret about it. More than anything he just looked tired.

"I'll see about doing that." He answered about the oil. "Might help her sleep better."

That would be a small but welcome miracle if so. He watched Jesse as she used some of the oil so he could duplicate the amounts and technique later. Everything about caring for a child was learning as he went. There was a lot to learn.

"One month. She'll grow faster than a human would. Slower than a wolf pup. Somewhere in-between, I'd expect." Dorian gave a half smile. "Guess I get to experience the teen years earlier."

Lucky him.

"Den Father, Child of Gaia. Got it. Be helpful when I end up on the hunt. Was wondering who'd look after her." Though he was used to den mother's there really wasn't anything wrong with a male in the role. "Don't suppose you have a few million dollars laying around?"

She'd asked what else she could do to help.

"Kidding. I appreciate you coming by and bringing supplies. Means a lot. You ever need a solid, let me know. I like repaying favors."
